The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) successfully organised a one week workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for MBA and BBA students. The workshop aimed to strengthen students’ practical understanding of financial concepts while enhancing their industry readiness in an increasingly competitive business environment.

The initiative was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application by equipping students with essential financial skills required for effective decision-making in business contexts. It provided a valuable platform for participants to gain insights into the practical aspects of financial management and develop a deeper understanding of how financial strategies influence organisational performance.

The first two days of the workshop featured engaging and insightful sessions on key topics such as Introduction to Financial Management, Cost of Capital, and Valuation of Securities. These sessions were conducted by Mr. Dakash Gupta, a Chartered Accountant, who brought his professional expertise and industry experience into the classroom. Through practical examples and case-based discussions, he explained complex financial concepts clearly and relatably, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world business scenarios.

The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging students to actively participate in discussions and ask questions. This dynamic learning environment enabled participants to explore financial concepts in depth and understand their practical implications in corporate decision-making. Students particularly appreciated the real-life examples shared during the sessions, which made learning more engaging and application-oriented.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of the institute, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of such collaborative programmes. He highlighted that industry-oriented workshops play a crucial role in preparing students for professional challenges by enhancing their analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making skills. He further noted that exposure to industry practices helps students gain confidence and develop competencies essential for success in the corporate world.

The workshop also reflects the institution’s commitment to providing holistic and skill-based education by integrating academic learning with industry exposure. Such initiatives not only broaden students’ perspectives but also prepare them to adapt to the evolving demands of the business environment.

The successful execution of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the coordinators: Ms. Rajinder Kaur, Ms. Parmjit Kaur, Mr. Amarpreet Singh, Ms. Nisha, and Dr. Manpreet Kaur. Their meticulous planning and coordination ensured the smooth conduct of the programme and active participation from students.

Overall, the workshop proved highly informative and enriching, equipping students with practical financial knowledge and enhancing their readiness for future career opportunities. It set a strong foundation for the remaining sessions of the week, promising continued learning and professional development for the participants.
