The NCC Wing of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Rama Mandi, Jalandhar celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and disciplined participation. The event reflected the spirit of national pride and constitutional values while reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education and responsible citizenship.

The celebration commenced with NCC cadets escorting Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga to the venue for the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag. The dignified march and disciplined conduct of the cadets set a solemn and inspiring tone for the programme. Following the flag hoisting, Dr. Bagga addressed the gathering and highlighted the central theme of the 77th Republic Day, “150 Years of Vande Mataram,” commemorating the enduring legacy of the iconic patriotic song composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. He emphasised the song’s historical significance in India’s freedom movement and its continued relevance in uniting the nation.

Dr. Bagga further elaborated on the two important sub-themes of the celebration—“Swatantrata ka Mantra – Vande Mataram (Mantra of Freedom)” and “Samriddhi ka Mantra – Atmanirbhar Bharat (Mantra of Prosperity).” He noted that these themes serve as a reminder of India’s rich cultural heritage while reaffirming the nation’s resolve towards self-reliance, progress, and inclusive development. Encouraging students to internalise these values, he urged them to contribute actively to nation-building through education, innovation, and ethical conduct.

Extending his best wishes to the faculty members, staff, and students, Dr. Bagga remarked that true nationalism lies in working collectively for the development of the country. He stated that the spirit of Republic Day should inspire young minds to envision and build a brighter future for the nation, adding that students are the torchbearers of tomorrow whose education equips them to make meaningful contributions to society.

Students from B.Tech, BCA, MCA, MBA, BBA, and B.Com (Hons.) programmes participated enthusiastically in the celebration. The programme featured patriotic poems and speeches highlighting the sacrifices of freedom fighters, the contributions of eminent Indian leaders, and India’s achievements on the global stage. A quiz on the Indian Constitution was also conducted, testing students’ awareness of constitutional values, rights, and responsibilities. The participants displayed commendable knowledge and awareness, reflecting the success of the initiative in fostering civic consciousness.

The event was thoughtfully designed to familiarise students with the significance of India becoming a republic and to honour the vision and efforts of the framers of the Constitution. It was conducted under the aegis of the NCC Wing, with Mr. Rohit Verma, Assistant Professor, School of Information Technology, and Mr. Naveen Chadha, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering, serving as faculty coordinators.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga appreciated the enthusiastic participation and patriotic spirit of the students and lauded the commendable performances of the NCC cadets. The Republic Day celebration concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing AIMETC’s role in nurturing not only academic excellence but also a deep sense of national pride and social responsibility among its students.
