Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21D, Faridabad, in association with the Rotary Blood Bank Charitable Trust, successfully organised a Blood Donation Camp. The initiative was led by the school’s Interact Club, reflecting its strong commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff, parents, and local volunteers, all united by the noble cause of saving lives through voluntary blood donation. The event stood as a testament to the spirit of compassion and collective action within the school community.

Commendable efforts by Interact Club Members

The success of the event was largely attributed to the exceptional leadership and teamwork of the Interact Club members – Advika Anil Thomas, Ayaman Anil Thomas, Hanshika, Nishu, Riddham, and Akanshi. Their tireless efforts, from coordinating logistics to motivating donors, were deeply appreciated by the school and all attendees. Their active involvement highlighted the school’s emphasis on nurturing socially responsible and proactive young leaders.

More than just a one-day event, the Blood Donation Camp was the culmination of weeks of planning, awareness drives, and student-led initiatives. It served as a powerful platform for instilling the values of empathy, service, and collaboration in young minds.

Interactive talk with Rotary representatives

In the lead-up to the Blood Donation Camp, the school organised an insightful Blood Donation Awareness session for students. The session featured esteemed guests – Rotarian Prem Pasrija and Rotarian Deepak Prashad, Trustee of the Rotary Blood Bank, Faridabad. Their presence added depth and credibility to the conversation around the importance of voluntary blood donation.

Ms. Purnima Vohra, the officiating principal of Apeejay Svran Global School welcomed the Rotarians and praised their commitment, noting, “Giving blood is giving life – a gift beyond measure.” The session was highly engaging, with students asking questions and expressing keen interest in the subject.

A highly engaging session

The session was both informative and engaging, sparking lively discussions among students and staff members. The Rotarians shared their extensive knowledge about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation, urging everyone to contribute to this noble cause. Their message was clear and powerful: “Let no life be lost for want of a drop of hope.”

Highlighting the importance of community support

In addition to emphasising the critical need for blood donation, the session also highlighted the urgent situation faced by children suffering from Thalassemia, a genetic blood disorder. Students were educated about the ongoing need for regular blood transfusions, especially for underprivileged children battling this condition. The Rotarians provided valuable insights into how the community can come together to support such causes, underscoring the importance of collective action in times of need.

Moved by the session, students and staff pledged to mobilise at least five additional donors each to support the camp. This collective resolve translated into the successful turnout on the day of the event, demonstrating the power of education, empathy, and action coming together.
