The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, successfully organised an enriching and interactive guest lecture aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge, entrepreneurial awareness, and corporate readiness. The session featured two distinguished speakers — Mr. Manav Sarna, Manager, Strategy and Analytics at American Express, and Mr. Vishal Verma, a renowned entrepreneur — both of whom shared valuable industry insights and career-shaping guidance with the young audience.

The event began with a warm welcome to the speakers, followed by an introduction to the objective of the lecture: bridging academic learning with real-world professional demands. With AIMETC’s strong focus on experiential learning and industry integration, the session aligned seamlessly with the institution’s mission of preparing students to thrive in dynamic business environments.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Manav Sarna captivated the audience with his experience-driven perspective on essential skills for excelling in both entrepreneurial and corporate setups. Drawing from his vast professional journey, he emphasised three core competencies—strategic thinking and problem-solving, effective communication paired with stakeholder management, and adaptability in an increasingly digital and fast-paced business world. He encouraged students to cultivate these skill sets consistently and highlighted how they form the foundation of leadership, innovation, and long-term success.

Following Mr. Sarna’s talk, Mr. Vishal Verma inspired students with his entrepreneurial story and practical suggestions for those looking to explore unconventional career pathways. He motivated young learners to tap into the growing opportunities in freelancing, particularly in the content creation domain. Additionally, he invited students to participate in a digital marketing competition organised by TRAVLS, announcing that the winners would secure a coveted chance to attend the TOKEN2049 Dubai Conclave, one of the world’s premier events for innovators, technologists, and digital entrepreneurs.

The engaging session drew keen participation from students, who actively interacted with the speakers and sought clarity on career strategies, start-up challenges, evolving digital trends, and professional growth avenues. The guest lecture not only broadened their understanding of industry expectations but also boosted their confidence to think creatively, take initiative, and pursue self-driven career paths.

Expressing his appreciation to the speakers, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, remarked,
“Through such impactful guest lectures, we reaffirm our commitment to bridging academia with industry and empowering our students to emerge as confident, future-ready professionals and innovators.”

He also commended the EDC team for organising a session that meaningfully connected classroom learning with contemporary industry practices.

The event concluded on an inspiring note, leaving students motivated to apply the insights they gained and further explore entrepreneurial and corporate opportunities. With initiatives like these, AIMETC continues to strengthen its legacy of fostering innovation, industry linkage, and holistic student development.
