In an era where the digital world is deeply interwoven into everyday life, the importance of using social media responsibly cannot be overstated. With this in mind, the students of Classes IX-E and VIII-F, of Apeejay School, Noida, came together to present a special morning assembly on the theme Think Before You Click-Responsible and Mindful Use of Social Media in the school auditorium. The event served as a meaningful initiative to educate young learners about cultivating a thoughtful and balanced digital presence.

The assembly began on a solemn and spiritual note with a prayer, setting the tone for a reflective session ahead. This was followed by the ‘Thought of the Day’, which offered an insightful perspective on digital mindfulness. Students then shared the latest national and international news, helping everyone stay informed and connected to the world beyond the screen.

The highlight of the assembly was an engaging talk supported by a visually rich video presentation. Through powerful visuals and relatable content, the session shed light on both the benefits and potential dangers of social media. Students explored real-life scenarios and the psychological impact of excessive screen time, cyberbullying, and online peer pressure, while also acknowledging how social platforms can be used positively for creativity, learning, and global connection.

To further embed the message, an interactive quiz was conducted, allowing students to test their knowledge in a fun and thought-provoking way. This not only added an element of enthusiasm to the session but also encouraged self-reflection among the participants.

Addressing the gathering, school Principal, Dr Neha Sharma, emphasised the value of maintaining a wise and respectful digital footprint. She urged students to remain vigilant, responsible, and empathetic while engaging online, especially in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience with a powerful message on digital responsibility. The assembly was a well-rounded effort that effectively blended awareness, education, and engagement, empowering students to be mindful digital citizens.
