For parents Saloni Sharma and Vikas Bakshi, choosing the right school for their son Puneet was a thoughtful decision – and one they are proud of. Puneet, now a Class 10 student at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, has been a part of the Apeejay family since his pre-nursery days. While his mother is the Head of the Physics Department at HMV College and his father is a Zonal Credit Manager at HDFC Bank, both have remained closely involved in his academic and personal development. In this interaction, Saloni Sharma shares why the school has been instrumental in nurturing her son’s potential.

How has Apeejay School contributed to Puneet’s academic and personal growth?

The school’s management is excellent, and the teachers are very hardworking. They’re deeply committed to student success – be it through regular tests, assignments, or one-on-one feedback. This constant monitoring has helped Puneet stay focused and improve where necessary. Additionally, the teachers are equally encouraging when it comes to co-curriculars like chess, where Puneet actively participates.

What kind of support does the school offer for board exam preparation and career guidance?

The school has a very structured approach. Apart from academic support through notes, assignments, and mock tests, they also organise orientation programmes to help students explore career options based on their interests. As a parent and educator myself, I find these sessions incredibly valuable.

Puneet shifted from the Model Town branch to Mahavir Marg in Class 9. How was the transition?

It was seamless. The school provided a very congenial environment, and his teachers made sure he felt at ease from day one. He had been a prefect in his previous branch and although he’s newer here, he’s already involved in school activities.

Has the regular academic feedback from the school been helpful?

Absolutely. It allows us to guide Puneet more effectively at home. Knowing where he stands and what areas need improvement gives us clarity and direction.

As someone from an academic background, what advice would you give to students pursuing science?

Physics offers a wide range of career options – teaching, research, radiology, industrial roles, and even placements in research centres like BARC and IASC. Students should explore all avenues before choosing a path.
