‘The school has played a significant role in developing both of my daughters’ independence skills’

In a recent conversation with the mother of Avantika and Anshima Jalote, Apeejay Newsroom explored the profound impact that Apeejay School, Nerul, has had on their educational and personal development. Avantika, a 2020 pass-out, is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, while Anshima is currently in 11th grade, pursuing a Non-Medical stream. The Jalote family chose Apeejay School for its excellent education and proximity to their Army Colony, and their positive experiences highlight the school’s role in shaping their future. Here’s a closer look at their experiences and the role of Apeejay in their development.

How did Avantika benefit from her time at Apeejay?

Avantika was highly involved in extracurricular activities; she served as the English editor for the school magazine each year, which greatly enhanced her skills. She also achieved accolades like being the head girl and receiving the Best Editor Award. Her involvement in these activities and her academic excellence, especially in SST, were pivotal in her development.

Can you describe Anshima’s experience and involvement at Apeejay?

Anshima has had a positive experience too. She was recognised for her empathy when she helped an able child during an exam in 9th grade. Additionally, she is passionate about badminton and holds a prefect position. The school has provided her with numerous opportunities to grow both academically and personally.

How would you describe the relationship between students and teachers at Apeejay?

The relationship between students and teachers is exceptional, especially with the old teachers. Avantika, despite being in the U.S., remains in touch with her former teachers who still show interest in her progress. This ongoing rapport speaks volumes about the school’s commitment to nurturing long-term relationships.

How has Apeejay contributed to your daughters’ personal development?

Apeejay has played a significant role in developing both of my daughters’ independence and social skills. The school’s environment encourages students to become self-reliant and well-rounded individuals.

How has your family’s journey with Apeejay been over the years?

Both Avantika and Anshima started at Apeejay from nursery and are continuing their education here. We are hopeful that Anshima will also complete her 12th grade at Apeejay, reflecting our continued trust and satisfaction with the school.
