Colours play a crucial role in the cognitive development of young children. Introducing colours in a structured manner helps in cognitive recognition, language development, and emotional expressions. Purple Colour Day is an exciting event celebrated in primary schools, designed to introduce young students to the vibrant world of colours.

This special day is part of the broader educational initiative to enhance early childhood development by using engaging, hands-on activities. To inculcate values amongst the students, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar celebrated Purple Colour Day for the students of the pre-primary wing, with zeal.

Dressed in vibrant purple attire, the young learners explored the colour purple, a hue that symbolises nobility, creativity, and wisdom. The event was filled with fun and educational activities, enhancing both learning and motor skills across different classes.

The students of pre-nursery engaged in a creative activity by pasting craft paper on grape shapes, introducing them to texture and colour association. The students of the nursery participated in a tear-and-paste activity, using purple craft sheets to create colourful images of brinjals, which helped improve their fine motor skills.

The students of LKG practised their cutting skills by shaping hearts and pasting them on sheets, fostering their creativity and hand-eye coordination. The students of UKG, the oldest in the pre-primary wing, students cut out and pasted butterfly shapes, blending fun with an appreciation of nature’s beauty.

These activities not only made learning about colours enjoyable but also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and the development of essential motor skills among the young students.

Purple Colour Day is more than just a day to wear a specific colour; it is an integral part of a child’s educational journey. By celebrating colours in a structured and enjoyable manner, schools foster a love for learning, creativity, and emotional development in their students.

These early experiences lay the foundation for a well-rounded education, helping children grow into knowledgeable and expressive individuals.
