Choosing the right school during the early years can shape a child’s learning journey in lasting ways. For the father of Hammad Hussain, a Nursery student at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, the past several months have been a heartening experience. From noticeable improvements in communication to growing confidence and curiosity, he shares how Apeejay School has played a significant role in his son’s development.
Read edited excerpts:
What changes have you observed in your son since he joined Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park?
The most striking change has been in his communication. Earlier, he would speak only a word or two, but now he tries to form complete sentences and even repeats what my wife and I discuss at home. He also uses words that we honestly didn’t expect from a nursery-going child. It makes us feel proud and reassured as parents.
Can you share an example that reflects his growing vocabulary and understanding?
Sometimes he uses words like “complicated,” which really surprises us. He also talks confidently about what he learns in class, whether it’s identifying animals as herbivores or carnivores, naming body parts, or recognising objects that start with a particular alphabet. These daily conversations show us that learning is happening consistently.
Have you noticed any change in his personality?
Yes, definitely. Earlier, we were told that he was quite shy. But at Apeejay School, he has transformed from being an introvert to someone much more expressive and confident. In just seven to eight months, we’ve seen him open up, interact freely, and express himself comfortably.
How has your interaction been with the teachers and the school?
Our interaction with the teachers has been very positive. Whether it’s during parent-teacher meetings or daily pick-ups, communication is smooth and reassuring. There is a clear comfort level between my son and his teachers, and I believe that comfort plays a big role in his learning.
What kind of learning environment does Apeejay School provide?
What stood out to us is that the school doesn’t limit learning to just alphabets or basics. They focus on overall development – be it new-age concepts, activities, or sports. The school genuinely invests time and effort in engaging children meaningfully.
Has the school guided you on supporting learning at home?
Yes, the teachers observed that my son enjoys storytelling and suggested ways we could nurture this interest, even recommending places we could take him over weekends. We’ve implemented these suggestions at home, and it has been a rewarding experience.
