‘The eye catching weeds’: Poem by Haritika Tripathi, Apeejay School, Kharghar

Published

Roaming around in the grassy fields

Covered by colourful flowers

Open ground, much space to run

But forgetting the amusing parts

Right down at your feet below

On the lush green grass

Stand the weeds, with eye-catching whites

In the winds, they seemingly dance

Tall trees with bushy leaves

Bearing the sweetest fruits

Smiling child, what do you see?

Monkeys climbing on the tree as troops

The wind is whooshing, shaking the leaves

With a calm and gentle breeze

Smiling child picks up a weed

Makes a wish and blows with glee

Finally at last, lets it flee
