‘Travel far, travel wide, travel deep. Discover the essence of life through the lens of the world.’
Experiential learning is crucial in students’ holistic development by offering them opportunities to engage with real-world environments. Educational trips are particularly effective as they allow students to gain hands-on experience, foster teamwork, and enhance their understanding of diverse subjects like wildlife, geography, and environmental conservation. Such activities are essential for cultivating curiosity, leadership skills, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
Recently, the students of classes IX and XI from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, embarked on an enriching educational trip to Jim Corbett National Park and Nainital, Uttarakhand. The four-day excursion, held from October 15 to 18, was designed in line with the NEP 2020 vision that emphasised experiential learning.

The students participated in thrilling jungle safaris, where they had the opportunity to observe wildlife, including tigers, elephants, and deer in their natural habitat. They also visited the Corbett Museum, which provided insights into the park’s rich history, flora, and fauna. Interactive sessions with forest officials gave students a valuable understanding of the significance of wildlife conservation and the efforts involved in protecting endangered species.
“The educational excursion was designed to help students learn the value of teamwork, self-reliance, and time management in a new environment. It challenged them to adapt, enjoy, and make the most of limited resources. Parents were delighted, and students formed new friendships while gaining important life skills,” said Ms Preeti Parmar, PGT Accounts and Senior Coordinator.

The adventure continued in Nainital, where students trekked to Snow View Point, which offered panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas. The group also enjoyed leisurely activities like boating on the serene Naini Lake and exploring the vibrant Mall Road. These moments allowed students to relax and take in the beauty of their surroundings while bonding with peers.
The trip proved to be more than just a recreational experience. Students gained a deeper knowledge of wildlife conservation, environmental issues, and geography. Additionally, the trip fostered essential skills like teamwork, leadership, and collaboration, as students worked together in various activities throughout the journey.

Grateful for the opportunity, many students expressed that the trip had left a lasting impact, broadening their perspectives and encouraging a greater appreciation for the natural world.
Overall, the educational trip to Jim Corbett and Nainital was an inspiring experience, providing students with a unique blend of learning and adventure.
