In a rapidly evolving educational landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly reshaping learning experiences, with universities and educational technology (edtech) platforms leading the charge. There is a notable surge in demand for AI skills, reflected in skyrocketing enrollments across various career stages.

Leading industry figures report a remarkable adoption of AI skills within the education sector. Institutions are swiftly adapting to this demand by offering specialised AI courses to meet evolving skill requirements, marking a clear shift towards technology integration in education.

India emerges as a frontrunner in AI skill penetration, driven by attractive compensation packages and growth prospects. Reports indicate that AI could substantially boost India’s GDP by 2025.

The National Programme on AI, spearheaded by NITI Aayog, aims to steer research and development in emerging technologies. It targets pivotal sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, smart cities, and infrastructure for AI implementation while addressing ethical, privacy, and security concerns. Online platforms and universities are swiftly introducing up-skilling courses, mirroring a paradigm shift in educational approaches.

Institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),  Delhi have introduced foundational AI courses for undergraduate students majoring in computer science, reflecting broader integration efforts across academia.
