‘The discoverer of Iceland’: Poem by Shachika Mishra, Apeejay School, Noida

The voyage of the dawn treader

Was not so happy dear reader

It was a ship of adventure

Sailing in the unknown waters

The night was dark and scary

The sea choppy and deadly

Which broke the hull and rudder

Causing the ship to go under

I, Captain Rocky

With my navigator Mr Butler

Washed ashore an island

Which is now known as Iceland

As I gained consciousness

I heard whimpering sound

My Butler pointing towards

 A ship named Fast Forward

And here dear reader

Was standing Nadod, my friend

Waving his hand

But it cut our tongue

The people understand

Nadod as the first person

In the world

 To reach Iceland

But that is not the case

He asked to face

The troubles on his own

And live there alone

I agreed to keep mum

Not believed by some

I sailed back home

To my beloved Rome
