The Christmas dream

It was a beautiful Christmas Eve. Sarah was watching a movie. It was her habit to watch a movie every Christmas Eve, ever since she was seven years old. The movie she was tuned to was called ‘Next’ in which a character named ‘Cris’ could see the future. She liked the idea of seeing the future and thought it was cool. That night, while going to sleep she wished that she could see the future too. Then, she had a dream that she had received air pods as her Christmas gift.

The next morning, she was surprised to find that her dream had come true! She actually got those for Christmas.

This series continued for a couple of days, whatever she dreamt, it would come true the next day. She thought it was just a coincidence and ignored that all her dreams were turning into reality. But then, she figured out that it was abnormal. She felt it was the Christmas miracle which gave her the power to dream of the future.

The following day, she called her best friend Annie and told her all about her wishes and dreams. Annie found it hard to believe and thought it was a prank. But Sarah was too excited to mind that. She simply exclaimed to her, “You will believe me someday, Annie!” The next few weeks things were great until one day Sarah dreamt of her parents. In the dream, they were considering sending her to a hostel.

It was a nightmare! Sarah didn’t want to leave her family and friends. And so, the whole night she couldn’t sleep.

The next day she called Annie and told her about the hostel dream. So Annie suggested that she must behave nicely for the next few days. Sarah did as Annie had advised.

Then, one day, she dreamt that her parents were saying, “She is going to the hostel tomorrow. We must surprise her”. They were sending her to a hostel without even informing her. She was really upset. So, she ran into her room and started crying while packing her stuff. But then, she was interrupted by a knock on the door. It was her parents.

She tried to stay as calm as possible but couldn’t control herself. Tears rolled down her eyes. Her parents looked really worried and confused about why she was crying and packing her stuff. When Sarah told them what she heard the other day they hugged her and started laughing. Her parents explained that they were not sending her anywhere. It was her cousin Ava who they were speaking of.

Sarah felt really stupid for believing her half-dream and not asking her parents about it sooner. She was relieved that she wasn’t going to a hostel.
