Leading a purposeful life, as an athlete, is about more than winning medals; it’s about discipline, perseverance, and self-growth, believes Manvir Singh, who passed out of Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, this year.  In a candid interview with us, he shares how to set goals, give your best, and constantly strive to improve, both in sports and in life.

How did you feel after receiving the prestigious Dr Stya Paul Award?

Receiving the prestigious Dr Satya Paul award was a very special moment for me. It meant a lot more to me, especially because I am a student-athlete and being one, I have set the bar high for every batch.

What are the core values you believe in?

I believe in core values such as kindness, honesty, compassion, hard work, and discipline. While some of these values were instilled by my parents, others were nurtured through my experiences at school and guidance from sports coaches. Together, they shape my character and approach to life.

How well do you resonate with Apeejay Education’s motto?

Apeejay Education’s motto, ‘Soaring High is my Nature resonates with me. It has been proven by me, being a State-level cricketer, doing freelancing and digital marketing work for brands. All the while focusing on my studies as well.

What’s your philosophy for leading a good life?

My philosophy to lead a good life is to stay as kind and honest as possible at any and every stage of my life. But to be kind doesn’t mean to let others walk over you; It’s to show respect to someone who respects you.

What is your driving force in life?

My driving force in life is the pursuit of personal growth through discipline. It motivates me to wake up each day to become a better, more evolved version of myself than I was the day before, continuously improving in all aspects of life.

What are the basic human values people should have?

Basic human values that every person should have are kindness, honesty and respect. These simple values guide us on how to treat others and also help us contribute positively to society.
