It is said that when your actions align with what you believe in, life naturally becomes meaningful. Carving her niche with this thought, Manvi Pandey, of Class VIII at Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, proudly flaunts the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values. In a candid interview, she shares how she is committed to making a positive difference.

How did you feel after receiving the prestigious award?

I felt very happy and grateful when I got to know that I was receiving the prestigious Dr Stya Paul Award. It was kept a surprise by my teachers and parents, so as soon as I got to know about it during assembly, I was on cloud nine. It was really a very special and memorable moment for me.

What are the core human values you believe in?

The core values I strongly believe in are honesty, respect, gratitude and compassion. These core values are the foundation of being an ideal human, contributing to personal growth and a harmonious society.

How much do you resonate with Apeejay Education’s motto?

I very much resonate with Apeejay Education’s motto- Soaring High Is My Nature, as it reminds me to dream big, act with purpose and stay true to my moral values. The real meaning of soaring high is to rise above limitations, stay true to human values and make a positive difference by serving others in society.

What’s your philosophy for leading a good life?

I believe that a good life is not just about achieving personal goals, but about living with purpose. For me, it begins with being honest to myself — doing what is right even when it is difficult and treating everyone with respect and empathy. I also believe that learning never stops. Every experience, whether success or failure, helps us grow into better human beings.

What is your driving force?

The driving force in my life is a combination of purpose, passion, and a commitment to excellence that makes a meaningful impact on the world and the lives touched along the way. It is the resilience to face challenges and the commitment to excellence that transform ordinary efforts into lasting contributions.

What are the basic human values people should have?

The basic human values that people should have are honesty, fairness, respect and compassion. Being an honest person and a truth seeker is the first step. Similarly, respect comes from within. So, we should always respect ourselves and everyone around us and have a feeling of empathy. Fairness refers to standing against inequality, no matter how difficult it becomes, and giving everyone equal opportunity. Last but not least, loving others, caring for others and being concerned for others by being compassionate is the most important human value that one should imbibe.
