The journey of life becomes truly meaningful when driven by growth and self-improvement. And thus, the constant desire to evolve and become a better version of herself acts as the greatest motivation. Meet Manasvi Mittal of Class XI at Apeejay SchoolMahavir Marg. In a candid interview, she shares her purpose and enthusiasm after receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values.

How did you feel after receiving the prestigious award?

I felt honoured to receive the prestigious award. I was elated when it was disclosed that I am one of the recipients. I am thankful to the teachers for giving me this opportunity and believing in me.

What are the core values you believe in?

I deeply value integrity because doing the right thing even when no one is watching requires strong willpower. It is a quiet strength that builds trust, not just with others, but within ourselves.

How well do you resonate with the Apeejay School’s motto?

The core motto of Apeejay School is Soaring High is My Nature and I deeply resonate with it, as it motivates us to rise every time we fall and face the adversities head-on. The idea that ‘the sky is the limit’ signifies working hard and becoming the best version of yourself.

What is your philosophy for leading a good life?

‘It is what it is’ – that’s my philosophy. Live in the present moment rather than dwelling on past things and worrying about something you can’t change. Certain things are beyond our control, and we should accept them as they are and head on with new zeal.

What is your driving force in life?

My driving force in life is the desire for growth and self-improvement. I’m motivated by curiosity to learn and understand more about the world and things around me. My greatest strength is my parents, who support me fully in fulfilling my dreams.

What are the basic human values people should cultivate?

The basic human value anyone should have is empathy for others and being respectful. More than half of the conflicts will dissolve only with people putting themselves in the shoes of others and trying to understand them. In addition to this, people should act kindly and honestly and work together for the common good.
