The PG Department of Computer Science at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, successfully organised a series of exciting and intellectually engaging competitions under the banner “TECH VIBES 2026.” The event was conducted through the department’s IT Forum and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various college departments.
The event’s objective was to encourage students to explore their technological skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities while fostering an environment of innovation and collaborative learning. The competitions were carefully designed to test the participants’ technical knowledge as well as their creative thinking in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
A wide range of competitions formed part of the event, including Debugging, Mobile App Idea Presentation, Net Savvy, Graphic Designing, and Web Designing. Each competition focused on different aspects of computer science and digital technology, enabling students with varied interests and talents to participate actively.
The Debugging competition challenged students to identify and correct errors in programming codes within a limited time, testing their analytical thinking and technical precision. The Mobile App Idea Presentation encouraged participants to propose innovative application concepts capable of addressing real-world problems, highlighting their creativity and entrepreneurial mindset.
Similarly, the Net Savvy competition evaluated students’ knowledge of the internet, digital tools, and emerging technologies through a series of questions and problem-solving tasks. The Graphic Designing competition provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities and creativity by designing visually appealing digital content. Meanwhile, the Web Designing competition allowed students to demonstrate their technical expertise by creating functional and aesthetically pleasing website layouts.
Students from various academic streams participated with great enthusiasm and energy, transforming the event into a vibrant celebration of technological talent and creativity. The competitions tested participants’ technical competence and encouraged teamwork, innovation, and strategic thinking.
Addressing the participants, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated the winners and applauded all students who took part in the competitions. She remarked that such initiatives play a significant role in the holistic development of students, as they provide valuable opportunities for experiential learning beyond the conventional classroom environment.
Dr. Dhingra further emphasised that active participation in academic and co-curricular activities nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and technological awareness among students. She added that consistent involvement in such events helps students build confidence, expand their intellectual horizons, and develop innovative solutions essential in today’s technology-driven world.
She also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the faculty members who played a key role in organising the event. Commending the commitment and initiative of Dr. Rupali Sood, Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Pallavi Mehta, and Harpreet Kaur, she acknowledged their contribution to the program’s success.
Encouraging the faculty to continue organising such meaningful initiatives, Dr. Dhingra stated that these platforms enable students to showcase their abilities, refine their technical skills, and channel their creativity and energy productively and constructively.
