Tech-Savvy Teaching: New initiative for digital age skills

In the rapidly evolving landscape of the 21st century, technology has become an integral component of our daily lives, as it influences every aspect of society, from communication and commerce to healthcare and education. Therefore, it is crucial to equip the younger generation with the necessary technological skills and knowledge to navigate and succeed in this digital age. To foster a similar level of knowledge and awareness amongst students, a workshop was held for the teachers at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar.

An in-house Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshop was organized on May 28, 2024, aimed at teachers instructing classes I to X and titled – ‘Get Friendly with Technology’.

The workshop was conducted under the proficient guidance of the Officiating Principal of the school, Ms Priyanka Grover. It encompassed a variety of topics aimed at enhancing teaching and learning practices in the classroom. The key focus of the workshop included the strategic use of ChatGPT to optimize educational outcomes and the proficient use of spreadsheet software for educational purposes.

The school’s IT department spearheaded the workshop, ensuring that sessions were tailored to meet the specific needs of different grade levels. Ms Sonali expertly managed the sessions for teachers of classes VI to X, providing in-depth insights and practical strategies for integrating technology into their teaching practices. Meanwhile, Ms Sunidhi guided the sessions for teachers of classes I to V, focusing on foundational skills and age-appropriate technological applications.



This comprehensive workshop provided teachers with valuable tools and knowledge, empowering them to create more dynamic and engaging learning environments for their students. This important session was held within the school’s state-of-the-art computer lab, which was equipped with the latest technology and advancements.

The comprehensive professional development opportunity aimed to equip the teaching staff with cutting-edge technological skills to enhance their pedagogical practices and provide students with an enriched learning experience. Ms Namrata Sharma, the Headmistress, along with the entire team, applauded the ICT department for their dedication and hard work in organizing this valuable training session.


As technology continues to shape our world, providing teachers and students with the skills and knowledge to navigate this landscape is crucial for their future success. All in all, the workshop was regarded as highly informative and successful.
