This student credits the selfless guidance of his teachers behind him clearing the prestigious GATE exam
Himanshu Dubey is pursuing B Tech in Computer Science Engineering at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram. He is a bright student who has recently cleared GATE exam and credits his teachers for inspiring him immensely for the same. He loves art, photography and is currently deciding on his next big move. Let us learn more about the tech wiz in a fun conversation. Edited excerpts:
Himanshu, what inspired you to pursue B Tech?
I have always had an interest in technical things since school. I also had some startup ideas. I was always motivated to join this technical field. Well, my father knew about this. So, he supported me and got me enrolled here. And this has kickstarted my career!
Describe life at ASU?
I love sports and cultural activities here. Academically, I am growing everyday. I just cleared the GATE exam with the guidance of my teachers. So yeah, it’s an all round progress. I am also heavily involved in coordination activities. I have developed many connections and made great memories because of these activities.
Are your teachers guiding you well?
Yes, as I just mentioned, their guidance was crucial in clearing GATE. Faculty is so caring. Moin sir goes the extra mile to teach his students. In fact, all the teachers motivate us so well.
What do you wish to pursue now in your career?
Well, I am thinking of doing a masters or taking up a job. I will take some time to make an informed decision. Let’ see!
And coming now to GATE, any tips for next year’s aspirants?
Solve the previous year question papers. Do regular mock tests. It is key towards clearing GATE. This drill gives a student the much needed idea about the topics and questions that come.
And also solve the mock paper with an alarm by your side. Time management plays a great role in this exam. And most importantly, check for negative marking. In short, calculate your risks!
How did ASU support you in clearing GATE?
My teachers inspired me. He filled the exam fees of so many students and inspired us to just study and fill the exam form. This gave us a big boost. We had such a kind and supportive teacher who went beyond , so I was determined to do well and make my teacher proud. So, a big thanks to him and ASU.
