Summer camps play a vital role in a child’s development beyond the confines of the classroom. They provide a balanced blend of learning, recreation, and creativity in a relaxed setting. Such camps cultivate life skills like teamwork, discipline, empathy, and communication, laying the foundation for holistic growth while ensuring that children spend their break constructively.

Keeping this in focus, Apeejay School, Noida successfully hosted a vibrant and enriching Summer Camp for students of Classes I to V. Held within the school campus, the camp offered students an opportunity to explore their interests, learn new skills, and enjoy their summer break productively and joyfully. A total of thirty-six students participated enthusiastically, engaging in a wide array of activities ranging from sports to performing and visual arts.

The camp aimed to support both personal and skill development in a nurturing environment. Students could choose from activities like skating, football, badminton, speech and drama, and craft and clay work—each thoughtfully designed to encourage creativity, fitness, and social interaction.

Skating sessions, led by coach Ms Pakhi Ahuja, focused on improving balance, coordination, and confidence. Children were introduced to basic and advanced skating techniques through structured lessons and fun obstacle courses. Safety remained a top priority, with the use of mandatory protective gear and continuous supervision.

Badminton sessions, also guided by Ms Ahuja, introduced students to the fundamentals of the sport, including proper racquet handling, footwork, and rally games. Emphasis was placed on agility, hand-eye coordination, and team spirit through friendly matches and playful drills.

In football training, coach Mr Arpit helped students master foundational movement skills and core techniques like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Beyond physical fitness, the sessions fostered teamwork, strategy, and communication.

Speech and Drama sessions, conducted by Mr Susheel Kumar, brought out the students’ expressive and creative sides. Through skits, news anchoring, personality development games, and enactments from the Ramayana, students learned articulation, stage presence, and cultural storytelling, boosting their confidence and empathy.

Under the artistic guidance of Ms Neetu and Ms Sonali, students explored their imagination in craft and clay sessions. Activities like spray painting, stencil art, and clay modelling allowed them to create beautiful items while developing fine motor skills and a deeper appreciation for traditional crafts.

The Summer Camp culminated on a high note, having provided a fulfilling experience that nurtured the physical, artistic, and social potential of every participant. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents highlighted the success of the program in offering a joyful and enriching summer experience.
