To mark the occasion of International Workers’ Day, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised a special assembly. The event was a heartfelt gesture aimed at acknowledging the dedication, hard work, and unwavering spirit of the working class, especially the school’s support staff.
The day served as an opportunity for students to understand and appreciate the important role these individuals play in our daily lives. From maintaining cleanliness to ensuring the school’s smooth functioning, their presence is indispensable.
A thoughtful start

The assembly commenced on a serene note with a soulful prayer, seeking blessings for all those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. This was followed by a thought for the day that stressed the dignity of labour and the value of hard work.
A well-researched student speech came next, tracing the history and global significance of Labour Day. Students emphasised how this day is a reminder to treat every worker with respect and gratitude, no matter the nature of their work.
Bringing stories to life
One of the key highlights of the event was a moving skit performed by students. The act portrayed the everyday challenges faced by workers, touching the audience with its sincerity and message. It aimed to evoke empathy and raise awareness about the silent struggles of the labour force.
The skit served as a wake-up call, encouraging everyone to be more considerate and compassionate toward those who make our lives comfortable.

Words of appreciation from the Principal
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel praised the dedication of the support staff and the significance of acknowledging every role in society. He reminded the students that every profession, big or small, deserves honour and recognition.
The most touching moment of the event was the felicitation of the school’s support staff. Students presented handmade cards, which they had crafted themselves, to each member of the staff. These tokens were personally handed over by the Principal, sir, adding warmth and sincerity to the gesture.
The Labour Day assembly at Apeejay School, Model Town, was not just an event — it was a lesson in empathy, gratitude, and respect. It successfully instilled in the students the value of recognising the unseen efforts of the people who contribute daily to our lives.
