Recently, Apeejay School, Noida, marked its participation in a city-level initiative focused on women’s empowerment through sports. The school’s Girls’ Athletics Team took part in the Run for Empowerment Nari Shakti event, organised by the Women Cell of the Police Commissionerate, District Gautam Budh Nagar. The event was held at Noida Stadium and brought together young participants from across the district.
The initiative aimed to promote awareness around women’s strength, resilience, and equal participation in public spaces. Events such as these continue to create opportunities for students to engage with larger social themes beyond the classroom.
The occasion was attended by Paralympic medallist Ms Deepa Malik, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Her presence added significance to the event, especially for young participants who look up to athletes who have overcome challenges and made a mark at the national and international level.
Among the participants, Maanya of Class VIII B from the school secured the second position in the race. Her performance stood out in a competitive field. She was awarded a certificate, a trophy, and a cash prize in recognition of her achievement.
The participation of the school’s team reflects a growing emphasis on sports as a space for confidence building and self-expression. It also highlights how structured exposure to public events helps students connect their personal efforts with larger social messages.
As Apeejay Schools continue to encourage such participation, events like these serve as a reminder that sports can be both a platform for achievement and a way to engage with important social conversations.
