Celebrating Moon Day can inspire students to take an interest in space exploration, potentially motivating them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Moon Day celebrations, especially in schools, provide a practical and engaging way for students to learn about the moon, its phases, and its significance in our solar system.

To instil some unique information amongst students from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park had the exciting opportunity to visit the National Science Centre to celebrate International Moon Day. This special day is observed in tribute to the historic landing of the first human on the moon’s surface. During the visit, students attended an interactive workshop that offered a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experiences related to the moon.

The highlight of the workshop was a captivating presentation on the evolution of the moon, displayed on a projection sphere. This innovative presentation allowed students to visualise the moon’s changes over time dynamically and engagingly. Students were thoroughly entertained and educated by this unique experience.

In addition to the presentation, the workshop included hands-on activities that demonstrated how craters are formed and how the different phases of the moon are observed. These activities provided students with a deeper understanding of lunar science through direct participation and experimentation.

After the workshop, students had the opportunity to explore the various exhibits in the museum. This exploration allowed them to further expand their knowledge about the moon and other scientific phenomena.

Overall, the visit to the National Science Centre provided students with a wonderful chance to learn about the moon in an enjoyable and informative setting. The experience was both educational and memorable, leaving a lasting impression on the young learners.

By celebrating such events, schools can provide a rich, multifaceted learning experience that combines fun with critical learning outcomes, nurturing the next generation of thinkers, creators, and explorers.
