Students of this school honour parents with heartfelt tributes

To mark the special occasion of Parents’ Day, the English Department at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg organised a series of thoughtful, grade-specific activities. These were aimed at cultivating gratitude and appreciation among students for their parents’ unwavering love, dedication, and support. The initiative was designed not only to honour parents but also to strengthen parent-child relationships through meaningful expression and introspective reflection.

Students of Classes III to V participated in a creative card-making workshop where they designed personalised greeting cards filled with original artwork, decorative elements, and handwritten messages. The activity provided young learners with a tactile and expressive outlet to convey their emotions, while simultaneously nurturing their creativity and writing skills.

In the middle school segment (Classes VI–VIII), students took part in a structured writing activity focused on composing short yet heartfelt gratitude notes. These compositions demonstrated students’ growing ability to articulate emotions with clarity and sincerity. Teachers guided them in understanding the importance of acknowledging small acts of love and care that often go unnoticed.

Senior students from Grades IX and X were encouraged to delve deeper with an extensive writing assignment on the theme #FeelingBlessed. Through this reflective piece, students explored the impact of parental guidance on their lives. They shared specific examples of how their parents had supported them in various situations, highlighted the life lessons they had learned at home, and connected their future aspirations to their parents’ influence. The exercise helped students gain a deeper understanding of their personal growth and values rooted in their upbringing.

As an added layer, parent feedback will be collected to evaluate the initiative’s impact on strengthening family bonds and to refine future programs. Teachers observed that these activities significantly enhanced students’ emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and writing proficiency.

By turning Parents’ Day into an opportunity for gratitude and learning, the school succeeded in creating a heartfelt and memorable celebration that left a lasting impact on both students and families. The event not only bridged emotional gaps but also encouraged students to recognise the foundational role parents play in shaping their lives.
