Students of this school celebrate Incredible India and Basant Panchami with enthusiasm

On February 11, 2025, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, hosted a special assembly on Incredible India and Basant Panchami. The event, presented by the students of Tagore House and Vivekananda House, was a wonderful blend of knowledge, culture, and festivity. 

The assembly began on a solemn note with the school prayer, setting the tone for an inspiring session. This was followed by the thought for the day, word of the day, and news headlines, which provided students with insights into contemporary affairs while reinforcing values of wisdom and learning. 

To highlight India’s incredible contributions to the world, students showcased the achievements of Ancient Indian scholars in various fields like Science, Mathematics, and Economics. They spoke about Aryabhata’s discoveries in Astronomy and Mathematics, Chanakya’s contributions to Economics, and Sushruta’s advancements in Medicine. This segment offered a deep dive into India’s intellectual legacy, fostering a sense of pride and admiration among the audience. 

Basant Panchami – Welcoming the Season of Growth 

Adding to the vibrancy of the event, the students celebrated Basant Panchami, a festival that marks the arrival of spring and is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom and learning. A stunning dance performance captured the essence of the festival, reflecting joy, renewal, and devotion. The performance, set to traditional music, was a visual delight that left the audience mesmerised. 

To further enhance the celebratory spirit, students and teachers dressed in shades of yellow, a colour symbolising prosperity and energy. The festival also served as a reminder of the importance of knowledge and enlightenment, inspiring students to pursue academic excellence with renewed enthusiasm. 

According to Ms Manisha Narayanan, PRT at the school, celebrating an assembly on Incredible India is an excellent way to inspire national pride , educate young minds and cultivate an appreciation for country’s diverse culture,history and achievement.

“Celebrating India’s accomplishment fosters a sense of pride in students about their heritage , encouraging them to contribute positively to the country’s future. Such an assembly can be an enriching experience. They can inspire students to be proud , responsible and active citizens of India. Basant Panchami holds significant value for students. Students celebrate this day by worshipping Goddess Saraswati and seek her blessings for success in studies and intellectual growth. Basant Panchami marks the arrival of Spring, symbilising new beginnings and growth. For students it is a reminder to start afresh , overcome challenges and improve their academic performance,” the educator shared.

The assembly successfully blended education with culture, reminding students of India’s glorious past while celebrating the beauty of its traditions. The event not only strengthened their knowledge of India’s scholarly contributions but also instilled a spirit of festivity and reverence for heritage.
