Students of this school brought the Ramayan to life through powerful performances

Truth alone triumphs; not falsehood – Mundaka Upanishad 

Recently, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrated the festival of Dussehra with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The school campus came alive with devotion, tradition, and festivity as students and staff gathered to commemorate the timeless victory of good over evil.  

The celebration began with a captivating enactment of The Ramayan, performed by students across different grades. Through expressive acting and strong dialogue delivery, they recreated key episodes from the epic, including Lord Ram’s exile, the golden deer episode, Sita’s abduction, Hanuman’s unwavering devotion, and the climactic battle with Ravana. The performances were beautifully interwoven with soulful Ramayan chaupaiyan, sung melodiously by the school choir, creating a divine and immersive atmosphere.

Students dressed in vibrant costumes of Ramayan characters such as Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, Ravan, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran, brought the mythological figures to life. Their colourful attire and intricate makeup captivated the audience and added authenticity to the dramatic presentation.

A major highlight of the celebration was the symbolic burning of effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran, and Meghnath. As the towering effigies went up in flames, the chants of Jai Shree Ram reverberated across the campus. This grand spectacle not only entertained but also conveyed a powerful lesson on the eternal triumph of truth and righteousness.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who reflected on the moral values of The Ramayan. He emphasised the importance of truth, duty, devotion, and the significance of following the righteous path in daily life.

“Dussehra reminds us that no matter how powerful evil may seem, truth and righteousness will always prevail. Through the celebration at Apeejay School, our students not only embraced our rich cultural heritage but also learned valuable life lessons from the Ramayan. I was proud to witness their enthusiasm and talent. Let us all continue to walk the path of virtue, courage, and compassion in our lives,” the Principal said.

The Dussehra celebration proved to be a memorable experience, instilling cultural pride, moral values, and festive joy in every participant and spectator.
