Students of this Jalandhar College shine at an inter-college fest ‘Utkansh’

Participants from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, won many awards at the cultural festival organised by NIT, Jalandhar

The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar made the college proud by securing first, second and third positions in cultural festival ‘Utkaansh’ organised by NIT, Jalandhar.

Various competitions were organised in this festival, where Apeejayites participated with full enthusiasm and made their college proud by winning many prizes for their excellent performances.

Out of 15 various competitions, the students won 12 first prizes, 10 second prizes and 6 third prizes.

In the competions, Prateek Dutt won 1st prize in Dot Art and Madhukala, 2nd prize in Popping Sketching and Leaf Story and 3rd prize in Phoney Case and Letter Art where as Riya Mago won 1st prize in Phoney case, second prize in Letter Art and Madhukala. Kreetina Rai won 1st prize in Judge a book by its cover and open mic and 2nd prize in Extempore, Flash Fiction and Just a minute. Along with them, Jaahnvi won 1st prize in Letter Art and Random Art.

Also, another Apeejayite, Harman Virdi won three 1st prizes in Leaf story, Hand painting and Popping Sketching and Baljeet Singh won third prize in Random Art.

Another students – Sandeep won 2nd prize in Random Art and third prize in Leaf Story and the students Paras and Vikas won 2nd prize in 10 minutes challenge and Handpainting respectively. Whereas, Suraj won 1st prize in Duet Dance and Tarannum and Kunj won 3rd prize in Madhukala and Baljeet and Vikas won third prizes in Duet Dance.

The students had also won handsome cash prizes for their extraordinary talent and flawless performances.

Vikas of B.F.A Semester 2 has won second prize with cash prize of Rs 1500 for ‘Hand Painting’ category, and third prize and Rs 800 for ‘Duet Dance’ category. For the same category, Suraj got first prize with Rs 2500. While, Baljeet got second place and Rs 800 for ‘Duet Dance,’ and for ‘Random Art’ category, he received 3rd prize with cash prize worth Rs 500.

On winning several awards, Kritina said, “I was so excited that I participated in 6 events and won prizes in 5 of them. I got 1st prize in 2 events and 2nd prize in 3 events. It was a very amazing and exciting experience for me. I’m glad I got to be a part of the Utkansh.”

Another winner Jhanvi said, “It was an amazing experience at this 3-day intercollege fest organised by NIT Jalandhar. We all participated in various activities with great enthusiasm and a competitive spirit, and I feel that the best thing that happened was most of the prizes were grabbed by team Apeejay!”

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, expressed her ecstasy over the success of the students and felt proud of them for making their college proud. She appreciated the efforts of Mr. Anil Gupta, Head of Department of Applied Art for guiding them well.
