Students Learn the Joy of Giving Through Social Outreach at Apeejay School, Saket

The Interact Club of Apeejay School, Saket organised a meaningful social outreach initiative on January 23, 2026, reinforcing the values of empathy, compassion and community service among students. The activity involved donating essential food items and clothing to the Missionaries of Charity – Jeevan Jyoti Home, a shelter dedicated to caring for the underprivileged and those in need.

Collective Efforts for a Meaningful Cause

Planned with thoughtful intent, the initiative aimed to sensitise students to the realities faced by marginalised communities and encourage them to respond with kindness and responsibility. Students, teachers and parents came together to collect essential food supplies such as grains, pulses and packaged items, along with neatly packed clothes, ensuring that every donation was respectful, purposeful and useful.

Learning the Value of Dignity in Giving

Members of the Interact Club actively participated in sorting, packing and organising the donations, transforming the exercise into a hands-on learning experience. Through this process, students learned the importance of dignity in giving and the value of mindful contribution. The activity encouraged them to reflect on responsible consumption and thoughtful sharing.

The visit to the Missionaries of Charity – Jeevan Jyoti Home further deepened students’ understanding of service. Interacting with the caregivers and witnessing the organisation’s work firsthand offered valuable insights into empathy-driven institutions and their role in society. For many students, the experience highlighted that compassion is best understood through action rather than instruction.

Building Social Responsibility and Teamwork

The initiative also underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration. By involving parents and teachers, the school reinforced the idea that social values are nurtured most effectively when learning extends beyond classrooms. Students gained clarity on how civic awareness, cooperation and leadership can be practiced in real-life situations.

Nurturing Empathetic and Responsible Citizens

Aligned with the ethos of the Interact Club, the outreach activity reflected Apeejay School, Saket’s commitment to holistic education—one that balances academic learning with character development. By encouraging students to engage in purposeful service, the school continues to nurture socially responsible individuals who understand that true education lies in empathy, action and giving back to society with sincerity.
