In a joyful effort to combine education with exploration, Apeejay School, Sector 15, Faridabad, recently organised an engaging excursion for its youngest learners, from nursery to Class V. The students visited two iconic museums in Delhi: The Museum of Illusions and Shankar’s International Dolls Museum. The trip was a delightful blend of fun, curiosity, and hands-on learning, creating lasting impressions on the young minds.
Science Meets Curiosity at the Museum of Illusions
The Museum of Illusions welcomed students into a fascinating world of mind-bending exhibits, making it one of the day’s stops. The museum features interactive installations such as holograms, optical tricks, anti-gravity rooms, and infinity tunnels, each offering students a chance to observe how human perception and science intersect.
The young visitors were visibly thrilled as they stepped into rooms that defied logic. Such exhibits introduced foundational concepts in physics, visual perception, and spatial orientation in a playful and engaging way. Teachers used the opportunity to help students relate these phenomena to classroom learning.

A Journey Across Cultures at the Doll Museum
Shankar’s International Dolls Museum transported the children to a world of tradition, heritage, and culture. With more than 6,000 dolls representing more than 85 countries, students marvelled at the variety of costumes, facial features, and cultural representations.
From the elegant Geisha dolls of Japan to the vibrant tribal dolls of Africa and classical Indian figures in regional attire, every display told a story. The museum sparked conversations around diversity, geography, and empathy. Students learnt how dolls can represent people, their customs, and their way of life.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
This excursion exemplified Apeejay School’s commitment to holistic and experiential education. It wasn’t just about sightseeing; it was about igniting curiosity, developing observation skills, and making learning joyful. The accompanying teachers highlighted how such trips complement classroom lessons and build important life skills like group behaviour, cooperation, and expression.

As students returned to school with wide smiles and stories to share, the day stood as a testimony to how powerful learning becomes when it is woven with exploration and joy.
