In the spirit of valuing hard work and nurturing creative expression, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised a Hindi Handwriting Competition recently for students of Classes I to VIII. The event, based on the theme of Labour Day, was not only an opportunity for students to showcase their penmanship but also a platform to reflect on the dignity and importance of labour in everyday life.

The primary aim of the competition was to promote the art of neat, legible handwriting while fostering a sense of appreciation for the tireless efforts of workers across different sectors. From sanitation workers and farmers to factory labourers and educators, the event encouraged students to acknowledge and express gratitude towards those who contribute to society in various roles.

Each student was asked to write a short composition in Hindi, expressing their thoughts on Labour Day and the significance of hard work. The enthusiasm was visible across all classes. While the younger students penned simple yet sincere lines with heartfelt emotions, the senior students wrote more structured, articulate reflections. Their compositions highlighted how every profession, big or small, deserves respect and appreciation. It was heartening to witness how thoughtfully the students connected their learnings with real-world values.

The competition was judged on several parameters such as clarity of writing, formation of letters, spacing, alignment, and overall presentation. Teachers observed a marked improvement in handwriting skills and were impressed by the thoughtfulness and sincerity reflected in the students’ work. The event was supervised by the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha and supported by the dedicated Hindi faculty, ensuring smooth conduct and active participation from all involved.

The results of the competition were announced during the school’s morning assembly. The winners from each class were honoured with certificates of appreciation and received a resounding applause from peers and teachers alike.
