In a vibrant and meaningful tribute to the world’s most iconic big cat, Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21-D, Faridabad, celebrated International Tiger Day with enthusiasm, creativity, and compassion.
The special event aimed to not only educate young minds about the significance of tiger conservation but also instil a lifelong sense of responsibility towards protecting our planet’s biodiversity.
Igniting Awareness Through Assembly
The celebration commenced with a special morning assembly, where teachers and students came together to understand the crucial role tigers play in the natural food chain. The session shed light on alarming statistics about dwindling tiger populations, deforestation, and habitat loss. Students were encouraged to reflect on how saving tigers is directly linked to preserving forests and maintaining ecological balance.
By weaving in stories, visuals, and real-world examples, the assembly made the topic relatable and age-appropriate, sparking curiosity and empathy in the young audience.
Tiger Mask-Making
For the youngest learners (Classes I and II) the school organised a delightful tiger mask-making activity. Armed with crayons, scissors, and boundless imagination, the little conservationists created vibrant tiger masks, expressing both creativity and concern for wildlife.
This fun-filled craft activity provided a perfect opportunity for experiential learning. It helped the students not only engage artistically but also associate the tiger’s image with the need to protect it.
Poster-Making with Purpose
Older students from Grades III to V took their advocacy a step further by participating in a poster-making competition. With themes like “Save Tigers, Save Forests”, their powerful visuals and slogans captured attention and sparked conversation.
By integrating environmental education with creativity, the school reinforced the idea that even the youngest voices can make a difference. Events like these highlight Apeejay Svran Global School’s commitment to nurturing holistically developed, environmentally conscious citizens who understand their role in preserving the planet.
As students proudly displayed their tiger masks and posters, they carried with them not just colourful creations, but also a deeper understanding of their role as guardians of nature.
