The School of Management Sciences (SOMS) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram recently organised an exuberant and enlightening event “Budget Symposium”. This event aimed at students of the Management domain and all Schools within the University, focused on an extensive analysis of the Union Budget 2025-26, as announced by the Honorable Finance Minister of India, Sri Nirmala Sitharaman.

The symposium provided an invaluable platform for students and experts to engage in dynamic discussions and gain insights into the future of fiscal planning, economic strategies, and budget management. The event featured a panel round-table discussion and orations on key financial indicators and budget allocations, presented by students as “Budget Representatives.” These discussions underscored the importance of a holistic approach to understanding the financial aspects of the government’s budget and the impact on various sectors.

The event brought together policymakers, economists, financial experts, and business leaders, providing them with a forum to exchange ideas on current economic challenges and long-term strategies for growth. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and gain practical insights into navigating budgeting and public financial management in today’s complex economic climate.

Expert Panel Discussions: Esteemed speakers shared their insights into critical economic issues, including inflation control, fiscal responsibility, public spending, and long-term growth strategies.

The panel was graced by Mr. Shishir Sinha, Associate Editor at The Hindu Business Line as external member panellist. Mr. Jatin Srivastava, Chartered Accountant, Co-Founder of Seth & Associates

and Glocal Advisors as external member panellist. Mr. Amit Kumar Sinha, HOD, School of Management Sciences as Internal member panellist.

Undoubtedly, students took center stage by presenting the key highlights of the Union Budget. The event also served as an invaluable networking platform, fostering new connections and discussions among students, faculty, financial leaders, and government officials.
