Showcasing talent and creativity, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, students secured distinctions at the Zonal Slogan Writing Competition. Meet Keshav Verma (Class XI) and Aram Noor Ali (Class VIII), who made the school proud by winning the Hindi slogan (senior category, second position) and English slogan (junior category, third position), respectively.

Keshav, deeply inspired by culture and traditions, said that he sees Vasudev Kutumbakam not just as a theme, but as a philosophy he lives by. “That is why, when given the choice of topics at the zonal Hindi Slogan Writing Competition, I instantly knew this was the one I would choose. For me, the message of oneness has always been a part of my thought process. I believe India and Pakistan, despite political divides, share food, music, language and culture, which connect us more deeply than differences ever could,” he opined.

His slogan in Hindi reflected this very belief. It conveyed that Vasudev Kutumbakam does not ask us to be the same, but to embrace our uniqueness and find unity in diversity. Just as in a family, no two members are alike, yet love binds them; humanity, too, can thrive when differences are seen as strengths.

“My preparation was not about memorisation, but about putting long-held convictions into words. The diverse environment at school, where students from different backgrounds interact freely, further strengthened my understanding of this idea. Securing the second position in the senior category was rewarding, but more importantly, it was a chance to voice a principle I hold dear,” he said.

For Aram Noor, writing has always been her passion, and she enjoys expressing herself through words. She also loves painting, singing and reading, which allows her to explore different shades of creativity.

“My teacher encouraged me to participate. She believed I was the right candidate for it, and her faith in me gave me the confidence to step forward. My slogan was, Nature shines in the dark, India’s beauty has lit the spark. We will clean it all our lives for the best green future to thrive,” she shared.

The thought behind it was simple yet meaningful – our actions today will shape tomorrow, and caring for the planet is not optional but essential. Preparing for the event in just two days was challenging, but under the guidance of her teacher, she felt ready to face it.

“The process boosted my confidence, sharpened my creative skills, and gave me the joy of expressing ideas close to my heart. Winning the third position in the junior category was a proud moment for me, but more than that, the journey itself was fulfilling,” she said in conclusion.
