Two young footballers, Gurshaan Singh and Arnav Punj from Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, made their mark at the Blooms Cup Indo-Nepal Invitational International Championship 2025-2026. The event took place in Pokhran, Nepal, from November 27 to December 3, 2025, bringing together talented players who competed with energy and focus.

The achievement drew appreciation from the school Principal, Mr AK Sharma and Vice-principal Ms Loveleen Bagga, who congratulated the students for raising the bar through sincere effort. Their performance adds to the growing spirit of young sports talent on campus and encourages many others to step forward with similar resolve.

Gurshaan and Arnav secured the first position in the tournament, earning a Gold medal through consistent play and steady teamwork. Their matches showed confidence and clarity under pressure. Arnav also received the title of Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, a recognition that reflects sharp reflexes and a determined mindset.

In a candid interview, the footballers share their experience of playing in an international tournament.

Gurshaan, a student of Class VIII and a left-winger, shares his experience. “The entire experience felt new and exciting. I honestly didn’t think we would win a Gold, so the moment it happened, I just felt happy and a little surprised,” he shared.

His team had been practicing every day for a month, coming in early and working hard. “Reaching the finals lifted our spirits, and we kept encouraging one another until the end. Playing in an international tournament gave me confidence and motivation to train harder and perform better in future matches,” he added.

Sharing a similar sentiment, Arnav, also a Class VIII student, said, “It was an unforgettable tournament experience that taught me teamwork, discipline, and how to stay calm under pressure. Hearing my name announced as the Best Goalkeeper award filled me with pride because it reflected hours of hard work. Throughout the matches, we supported one another, stayed positive, and kept reminding ourselves to give our best for the team.”
