Student Achiever: ‘Try and you will triumph’
This contortionist’s skills from Apeejay School, Kharghar remind one of beautiful contours in the air
She jumps, twirls and glides in the air smoothly personifying an English metaphor. Meet Aahana Singh, a student of class V at Apeejay School, Kharghar. In a candid interview, she shares how she takes pride in bringing laurels to the school.

Tell us about your recent achievements in aerobics.
I won a Gold medal in Aerobics in the District level Championship held by Amateur Gymnastics’ Association of Raigad and will be participating at the state level this December. I also participated in CBSE National Championship 2024 where I ranked 14th place amongst 32 participants.
Who is your inspiration?
Nadia Elena Comăneci as she was the first woman to get a perfect 10 in gymnastics at the Montreal Olympics in 1976.
Who is your favourite acrobat and why?
Nadia is and will always be my favourite acrobat because though she was an orphan and worked in a circus to survive, she still achieved her dream.
How did Apeejay support you in your craft?
I have always received support from my teachers and school, who have provided all the necessary help whenever I participate in competitions.
Do you want to pursue aerobics professionally?
I am very keen on pursuing aerobics and artistic gymnastics, and one day, I aspire to represent my country and make it proud.
How has aerobics changed your life personally?
Aerobics is a sport which requires precision, it has helped me to become sharp, prompt and stronger in life.
What’s the most challenging part of aerobics and how did you overcome it?
The most challenging part of aerobics is staying sharp and precise with every beat. I am working on this by practising regularly in my classes.
