Student Achiever: ‘The universe embodies the power of Om and meta particles’

She is fascinated by the divine intervention that brings forth adequate life on this planet. Her determination is fixated upon unveiling the magnanimous energies constituting the cosmos. Meet Shreyasi Pandey who is studying in class XI at Apeejay School, Noida. In a candid interview, she expresses how she is waiting to unfold the secrets of technology layer by layer. 

Tell us about your achievements at Technofest. 

At Technolympics, I achieved a milestone by winning first prize in Pitch Prodigy, a pitching event. Our company was Ristiko, where we aimed to provide a new type of material Metal Plastic Composites (MPCs). MPC refers to materials that combine metal and plastic components to leverage the strengths of both. We solved the problem of what becomes of these non-biodegradable materials when they are buried deep in our oceans. I also made it to the finals of another web development competition, EmpowerX, but I had to pick one because of their conflicting schedules.

What’s your ambition in life?

I am interested in Space Science and Astrophysics. Since class IX, I have been driven by my passion for Astrophysics. My spirits lifted after I achieved a rank in the National Space Olympiad, and I now aspire to work as an Astrophysicist. I’m also fascinated by UFOs and alien research. In my spare time also, I enjoy watching videos about astronomy or reading and writing stories especially those that are space-related.

How did Apeejay School support your journey?

The school has undoubtedly played a significant role in influencing my path as a new student. The access to excellent resources and encouragement from teachers helped me excel in such competitions. The vast collection of books in the school’s library engaged me during my free periods. The school also emphasises extracurricular activities and provides a platform where I could explore my potential. The teachers provided guidance and constructive feedback, which helped me refine my skills even more. Overall, this school nurtured my confidence and gave me a chance to showcase my ideas and skills on a larger platform.

What was the most challenging part of Technofest?

The most challenging part throughout the event according to me was during the questioning round. After we had completed our pitch, the judges asked questions regarding the monetary benefits, the production process, how flexible it was on a larger scale, and how we were going to collaborate with other B2B companies. We had to convince them of their question of feasibility. The judges not only tested my understanding of the idea but also my ability to think on my feet.

How is technology important in today’s world?

A major component of technology today is being presented in the form of Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is revolutionising industries by enabling smarter decision-making, automating tasks, and unlocking new possibilities in every field nearly. Today, technology is playing a crucial role in addressing global challenges like climate change and resource optimisation. So, technology continues to redefine human potential and societal progress.
