His combat skills are a treat to watch each time he tackles an opponent on field. Meet Parth Mighlani who is studying in class VIII at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. In a an interview Parth gets candid on how he wants to be the leading Kurash player of India.

Tell us about your recent achievements.
I recently won a medal in Kurash which is a traditional martial art form of Central Asia. It was a wonderful experience to compete against talented players.
How did Apeejay support your journey?
My school provided immense support by offering training facilities. Our expert coach, supported us with encouragement and motivation, her guidance helped me to refine my skills.
What is the most challenging part of this sport?
The most challenging part of any sport is to be both physically and mentally fit and discipline. Kurash demands focus and self-control.

Would you like to pursue this sport professionally in future?
I love to play Kurash and will continue it in future.
How has this sport changed your personality?
This sport improved my time management and enhanced my self-confidence.
Explain your training regime.
I go for morning coaching at 7 am provided by school where my coach helps to improve our skill and organise technique drill.
Any special diet you follow?
I follow a balanced vegetarian diet which is rich in protein, carbohydrates like milk, rice and whole wheat. I also love to eat fruits and vegetables. And focus on being adequately hydrated.
Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration is my coach at Apeejay.
Who is your favourite martial artist?
My favourite is Yash Kumar Chauhan who is an Indian Kurash player.
