Read edited excerpts here.

Tell us something about your achievements at techno fest?

My teammates and I from the CODE club had participated in the inter school event, Technolympics. It is a techno fest with multiple events, each specialising in some form of technological use. My teammates (Siya Batra (XI) and Shreyasi Pandey (XI)) secured the first position for the event Pitch Prodigy, in which we had to brainstorm, design, and pitch an idea/product for helping in sustainability issues. We decided to work on the idea of Metal-Plastic Composites, which are a composite material that mould metal and plastic together, in doing which it combats metal depletion and also gives greater higher thermal conductive and stronger materials, which can be used in aerospace, mechanicals etc. I and Siya were responsible for the project design, while Shreyasi was responsible for the logical side.

What’s your ambition in life?

Currently, my dream is to become a Game Design Programmer. It has been my dream since the fourth grade to create and make games, specifically the coding aspect of it. I am working on my portfolio, making some side projects while still continuing with my studies. I have also made sure to work on innumerable other fields. I have won multiple events under web design, graphic design and product pitching to add to my achievements, and will possibly be choosing from one of the above if my main ambition doesn’t pan out.

How did Apeejay School support your journey?

The teachers have been very lenient with us. Even though technofests are currently somewhat newer, the teachers are very open-minded about us working on the CODE club and our competitions, and also mentor us wherever they can. As students, we try not to rely on the teachers much to build trust between members, but when required, the teachers are always there to support us. As long as our extracurricular activities don’t take us out of our academics too much, the teachers and faculty are very helpful and trustworthy, which is fair since our first focus should be studies.

What was the most challenging part of techno fest?

The most challenging part was preparing for the competition, as when the prelims for the competition arrived I was already in numerous other competitions and had my exams coming. However, with the help of my teammates, the difficult part was easy to handle.

How is technology important in today’s world?

Technology is very important in today’s life. Even if you vouch against it, one cannot say that modern life can exist without technology. As long as one controls technology, instead of being under its control, one can develop himself and also help in the betterment of society.
