She wishes to pay back an ideal guru dakshina to her teachers by making the dream of an egalitarian society come true. Meet Suravi Gupta who is studying in class XI at Apeejay School, Noida. In a candid interview Suravi shares that a centum score in Math and Science is what keeps her on her toes.
Read edited excerpts here.
What was your preparation like?
In my class X Boards, I scored an aggregate of 98.4%, with a perfect centum in Math and Science. I was determined to nail my exams, which motivated me to work hard and consistently. So overall, I started to love studying and had fun while doing so.
Which stream have you taken ahead and what are your plans?
In class XI I’ve opted for the Humanities stream. I wouldn’t say I’ve had it all figured out, but I have a great interest in civil workings and law and wish to be a government officer.
How did the teachers help you?
All my teachers at Apeejay were extremely supportive and motivating. Their words of advice helped me focus even during hard times. I am immensely grateful to all my teachers for the same.
Which extracurricular activities do you enjoy at school?
I have a passion for music and continue to participate in cultural events organised by the school. I also participated in Inter-schools debates. Our school supports us in pursuing talents in both academic and other fields.
How has your journey been at school so far?
I’ve studied in Apeejay since I was three. I am extremely happy in, and proud of, my school. It’s been wonderful growing up with this supportive family.
Any message for students appearing for class X Boards next year?

I would just like to advise all to not take any kind of stress, and instead focus on taking their studies as a privilege instead of a pressure, work hard and give their level best!
