In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, fostering global citizenship, sustainable practices, and collaborative learning is more essential than ever. Recognising the pivotal role educators play in shaping responsible, environmentally conscious future leaders, Apeejay Education is actively aligning its teaching methodologies with international frameworks. One such initiative is the British Council’s RIDS Project (Reducing Inequalities, Driving Sustainability). This school-level award programme integrates the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into school curricula through collaboration, action-based learning, and teacher capacity building.
In this spirit, a fruitful two-day visit was organised, as part of the preparatory efforts for the British Council’s RIDS Award. Ms Sarita Chawla, RIDS Coordinator from Apeejay School, Saket, visited a sister school of Apeejay Education to conduct an intensive training session for teachers and coordinators.
The objective of the visit was to strengthen on-ground implementation strategies, align cross-curricular initiatives, and foster a deeper understanding of the RIDS project modules. Through focused sessions, Ms Chawla offered insights into effective documentation, evaluation strategies, and creative classroom integration of sustainability themes such as climate action, gender equality, quality education, and innovation.
Teachers were equipped with hands-on tools, interactive templates, and success stories from other RIDS-participating schools to inspire and guide their journey. The sessions also emphasised the importance of student engagement, collaborative projects, and community outreach, crucial pillars of the RIDS award.

What made the training especially impactful was the cross-school collaboration, underscoring the Apeejay group’s collective vision of holistic, globally relevant education. It was a vibrant platform for dialogue, reflection, and shared learning, helping streamline efforts towards achieving measurable goals under the RIDS framework.
With a renewed sense of purpose and enriched strategies, the host school is now better positioned to move ahead with its RIDS action plan. The visit marks a strong step forward in the group’s commitment to global excellence, sustainability education, and inter-school synergy.
Such knowledge-sharing practices continue to fortify the ethos of Apeejay Education, Soaring High Is My Nature, as the network of schools works together to create change-makers for a better, more equitable world.
