STEM Tactics inspire young innovators at this school

The Primary Department of Apeejay School, Noida, hosted an exciting science competition titled STEM Tactics-Be That Scientist on December 12, 2024. This engaging event was designed for Class V students, encouraging them to showcase their scientific skills, nurture curiosity, and foster a spirit of innovation.

The competition aimed to promote scientific temper and creative thinking. The journey began with preliminary rounds conducted in November 2024, allowing every student to participate. Following a rigorous selection process, five students from each section were shortlisted to present their models in the final round.

The final round saw enthusiastic participants explaining their scientific models with passion and clarity. Their projects reflected deep thinking, creativity, and a sound understanding of scientific principles. The young scientists impressed the judges with everything from energy-efficient devices to eco-friendly innovations.

Judging Criteria and Recognition

The participants’ models were evaluated based on four key parametres: Creativity: How original and imaginative the project was; the context of Research: Relevance and depth of the scientific research involved; Use of props: Appropriate use of supporting materials and the overall presentation: Clarity, confidence, and coherence during the presentation. The judges commended the students for their exceptional efforts and innovative projects.

The Primary In-charge, Mrs Smriti Samuel, lauded the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to continue pursuing scientific exploration and said that the students must keep nurturing their curiosity and striving for excellence.

Winners Announced

The event concluded with the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony. The winners were: Overall Winners: First Position: Atishi Bansal (5C); Second Position: Vedant Verma (5E), and Samridhi Jain (5B). The Best in Class Awards: Medha Dhawan (5A), Medha Tiwari (5B), Anshita Upadhyay (5C), Gunav Gupta (5C), and Racheal Shandilya (5E).

The competition not only celebrated scientific excellence but also instilled a sense of confidence and achievement among young learners. Events like these pave the way for a promising future in STEM fields, fostering a generation of innovative thinkers.
