Stalin urges PM  to “favourably consider” state’s request for NEET exemption

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “favourably consider” the state’s request for exemption from  National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET. Stalin was speaking at an event to inaugurate 11 new medical colleges by the Prime Minister via video  conferencing. “The admission policy of Tamil Nadu plays a very important role in our health infrastructure. It is to protect this that we have been continuously demanding for Tamil Nadu. I appeal to the Union government to consider our request favourably,” Stalin said. A Bill to exempt the state from NEET was unanimously passed by the state legislature in September.
