The event motivated Apeejay Model Town students to reflect on and take charge of their overall well-being

On April 7, 2025, Apeejay School, Model Town, organised a special assembly to mark World Health Day. The event aimed to spread awareness among students about the value of good health and how it is the foundation of a happy life. It brought together students and educators in a shared mission to promote wellness across all age groups. The day’s activities reminded students that well-being includes not just physical fitness, but also mental and emotional balance, which are equally vital for overall development.

The theme of the event echoed the words of English poet Leigh Hunt – “The groundwork for all happiness is good health.” The phrase served as an apt reminder to students to prioritise their health through simple, everyday actions.

Guidance under visionary leadership

The event took place under the visionary leadership of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group; Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; and Chairman, Apeejay Education. As the daughter of Dr Stya Paul, Founder-Chairman of the Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, Mrs Berlia continues to inspire young learners to aim for holistic development — focusing on both academic growth and personal well-being.

The morning began with the school prayer, followed by the ‘thought of the day’, which set a positive tone. Students then presented a beautiful poem and spoke on the ‘topic of the day’, all centred on the idea that good health is the key to a happy and successful life.

Throughout the assembly, students discussed healthy habits such as regular exercise, balanced diets, and getting enough rest. They also discussed mental health, urging their peers to relax and share their feelings.

Officiating Principal, Mrs Priyanka Grover, addressed the gathering, applauding the students for their meaningful participation. She urged everyone to adopt a healthier lifestyle by making conscious food choices, remaining physically active, and following a balanced routine. Her message was clear: small changes in daily habits can lead to long-term benefits.

Inspiring young minds towards better choices

The event successfully encouraged students to think about their well-being and take responsibility for it. From insightful speeches to inspiring messages, the assembly made a lasting impact. It reinforced the idea that health is wealth and that wise choices today can lead to a happier, healthier tomorrow.
