At Apeejay School, Noida, our students continue to excel through dedication, discipline, and the right academic guidance. Consistent effort, conceptual clarity, and strong support systems are helping them achieve remarkable results year after year. Meet three such students — Ayushman Sahu (who came first), Ayaan Sharma, and Ananya Bhagchandani of Class IX-C (academic year 2024-25). In an impromptu interview, they share their academic success.
Ayaan, who scored 95.6%, shared that he managed to achieve this result mainly through effective time management. “Once the date sheet was released, I immediately broke down my remaining days into a subject-wise plan, allocating time based on the complexity of each subject and how much time I needed to master it,” he stated and added that this preparation started about a month before the exams.
“Throughout the year as well, I maintained a basic strategy. For subjects that needed regular practice, like Science, Math, and English Grammar, I ensured that I practised them at least once or twice a week. The guidance from my teachers played a huge role in my success. In Class IX, and even now in Class X as well,” he shared.
His parents also supported him. “I tend to get very anxious before exams, even when I’ve prepared well. My parents helped me stay calm and composed during that critical time, which allowed me to perform to the best of my abilities,” he said.
Ananya, who scored 94.8%, was pleasantly surprised with her result! My study strategy was based on consistency and concept clarity. I studied and revised regularly. I firmly believe that rote learning is not effective. If we don’t understand concepts, we’re bound to forget them. That’s why I focused on deeply understanding every topic,” she said.
The teachers were incredibly supportive throughout as well. They constantly encouraged her to revise and provided useful tips. “For example, in Math, I followed their advice and practised questions from advanced books, beyond the regular NCERT syllabus. For Science, I focused on conceptual understanding and then moved on to practical and application-based questions,” she said in conclusion.
