To equip its staff with essential financial acumen and cyber safety skills, Apeejay School, Noida, organised an impactful workshop in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and ICICI Bank, hosting a comprehensive Financial Literacy and Cyber Awareness Workshop for its teaching and non-teaching staff on May 21, 2025. The initiative aimed to empower educators with vital knowledge to make informed financial decisions and safeguard themselves against rising cyber threats in the digital age.

The event commenced with a warm “green welcome” extended to the esteemed guest, Mr Jan Tappa, Assistant General Manager at the RBI, by Principal Dr Neha Sharma. In a mark of tradition and positivity, the workshop began with a ceremonial lamp lighting. Participating in this auspicious start were Principal Dr Neha Sharma, Vice-principals Mrs Amrita Hajela and Ms Puneeta Bhasin, the guest speaker Mr Tappa, and staff members from ICICI Bank.

Mr Tappa conducted a highly engaging and insightful session that delved into prudent financial management and the wise use of financial tools. He highlighted the pressing need for financial awareness in today’s fast-evolving digital economy. The session also addressed critical aspects of cyber safety, explaining prevalent threats such as vishing, phishing, identity theft, juice jacking, and other forms of digital scams and frauds. His comprehensive explanations helped participants better understand how to identify, avoid, and report such malicious attempts.

The workshop also featured an interactive quiz designed to assess and reinforce the knowledge gained during the session. It proved to be both informative and enjoyable, sparking active participation and discussion. This was followed by a Q&A session, during which Mr Tappa addressed queries from the audience, further enriching the learning experience.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr Tappa for his valuable insights and to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement. The Principal praised Mr Tappa for delivering the session with clarity and confidence, noting its relevance and importance for staff members in today’s digitally driven world.

The workshop marked a significant step forward in promoting financial literacy and cybersecurity awareness, reflecting Apeejay School’s commitment to the holistic development of its staff and community.
