To help students build a strong foundation of healthy eating habits, Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21-D, Faridabad, recently organised an interactive awareness activity titled “Reduce Sugar Intake Among Children – Say No to Sugar.” The initiative aimed to educate young learners about the impact of excess sugar on health and encourage them to make mindful food choices from an early age.
Learning through engagement and creativity
The event was thoughtfully designed to make nutrition education both fun and meaningful. Students took part in a range of engaging activities, from creative poster-making to interactive discussions and interesting facts about sugar and its alternatives.

Through these activities, children learned how to identify hidden sugars in everyday foods, decode nutrition labels, and differentiate between healthy and unhealthy snacks. Visual learning tools and peer participation helped simplify complex topics, making the session enjoyable and easy to understand.
A step towards holistic wellness
The activity also addressed the lesser-known effects of sugar on children’s concentration, energy levels, and emotional health. By showing students how sugar-rich diets can impact their day-to-day lives, the session inspired them to choose nutritious alternatives that support growth and learning.

Spreading awareness beyond the classroom
The school encouraged students to take the message home, thereby involving families in the wellness journey. Children were excited to share their learnings with parents and siblings, helping to extend the circle of awareness.
Through this activity, Apeejay Svran Global School has taken a forward-thinking step in empowering its students to make better lifestyle decisions – because a healthier tomorrow begins with smarter choices today.
