The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar recently organised an intellectually stimulating activity titled “Revive and Survive”, aimed at enhancing students’ analytical and problem-solving skills in the domain of business management. The event provided a dynamic platform for budding management professionals to critically evaluate real-world business failures and propose strategic revival plans.

Designed as a case-study-based competition, the activity required participants to present detailed analyses of failed or struggling businesses. Students examined the underlying factors that led to organisational decline, including financial mismanagement, flawed marketing strategies, operational inefficiencies, and changing market dynamics. They were then challenged to develop innovative, practical, and sustainable strategies to restore business viability. By engaging with real-world business scenarios, the competition successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and practical application.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of resilience and adaptability in entrepreneurship. He remarked that failure should not be viewed as the end of a business journey but as a stepping stone toward innovation and growth. He emphasised that activities like “Revive and Survive” equip students to think strategically, adapt to challenges, and transform setbacks into opportunities. He further noted that experiential learning platforms are essential for nurturing confident, capable, and future-ready entrepreneurs.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across management streams, who demonstrated remarkable strategic insight and analytical depth. Manvir and Jishman from MBA Semester II secured the first position with their well-researched case analysis and comprehensive revival strategy. Archita and Vatash from BBA Semester VI achieved the second position, impressing the judges with their creative solutions and structured approach to business turnaround planning. The evaluation criteria focused on analytical clarity, feasibility of solutions, innovation, and presentation skills.

Participants shared positive feedback about the event, describing it as “highly engaging and thought-provoking.” Many students appreciated the opportunity to analyze real business challenges and apply theoretical concepts in a practical setting. One participant remarked that the activity enhanced their confidence in decision-making and strategic thinking, while another highlighted how the competition deepened their understanding of crisis management in business environments.

The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance and coordination of faculty members Ms. Rajinder Kaur and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, whose dedicated efforts ensured seamless execution.

Overall, “Revive and Survive” reinforced the institution’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, teamwork, and critical decision-making skills. The event concluded on a high note, reaffirming the institute’s mission to cultivate innovation, leadership, and enterprise among aspiring management professionals.
