Republic Day celebrations spark patriotism among students

The Ashoka House at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, organised a vibrant Republic Day celebration. The event was a remarkable display of patriotism and creativity, showcasing the students’ enthusiasm and talent. The celebration left the audience feeling a deep sense of pride in the nation’s rich culture and values. The programme began with a soulful rendition of patriotic songs, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride.

The highlight of the day was a musical skit titled One Nation, which depicted India’s unity in diversity. Through their performance, students portrayed how people from different backgrounds come together to strengthen the nation. 

Adding energy to the event was an enthusiastic dance performance. Students performed gracefully, combining traditional and contemporary moves to highlight the cultural diversity of India. The younger participants added a special charm by dressing up as famous national leaders, bringing historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Rani Lakshmi Bai to life. Their heartfelt portrayals captivated everyone present.

According to Ms Vandana Bansal, Vice-principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, the school conducted an assembly on the occasion of Republic Day to bring a sense of patriotism in students by highlighting the significance of Republic Day, which celebrates India’s democracy, unity, and the adoption of its Constitution.

“Activities such as flag hoisting, the singing of the national anthem, and presentations by little ones reminded students of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. The skit, One Nation, conveyed the message of unity and diversity in India. Special Assembly helps instil pride and respect for the nation in students,” she shared.

Recognising excellence and dedication

The event also celebrated student achievements in various fields. Certificates of recognition were awarded to NCC cadets for their discipline and dedication to the values of unity and service. The school also honoured winners of the Hindi Olympiad, acknowledging their academic brilliance. Adding to the celebrations, students excelling in the Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP) were awarded scholarships, further encouraging a culture of excellence.

The Republic Day festivities culminated with a ceremonial flag hoisting, a symbolic act of honouring the nation and its ideals. The hoisting of the Tricolour was accompanied by the National Anthem, as students, teachers, and staff stood in unity, reflecting their deep respect for the nation.

The celebrations by Ashoka House were a true reflection of the students’ dedication and the school’s commitment to instilling a sense of patriotism in young minds. The well-curated event highlighted the importance of national pride while celebrating the achievements of students in a meaningful way.
