Apeejay School, Saket celebrated Republic Day with great patriotic fervour, transforming the school auditorium into a space of reflection, pride and collective learning. The celebration was thoughtfully designed to help students understand not just the symbolism of the day, but the deeper values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

The programme commenced on a soulful note with patriotic songs rendered by students, evoking a strong sense of national pride and unity. The melodies set a respectful and reflective atmosphere, reminding the audience of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters and the responsibility that comes with living in a democratic nation.

Learning Through Art and Expression

This was followed by an energetic and graceful dance performance presented by the students, which beautifully blended artistic expression with patriotic themes. Through movement and music, the performance highlighted ideas of freedom, unity in diversity and collective responsibility, allowing students to engage with national values in a creative and meaningful way.

Such cultural presentations reinforced the role of the arts as a powerful educational tool, enabling students to internalise historical and civic concepts beyond textbooks.

Understanding the Spirit of the Constitution

The celebration also featured addresses by school leaders, who spoke about the significance of Republic Day and the importance of the Indian Constitution as a living document. Emphasis was laid on values such as equality, justice, discipline and respect for democratic institutions.

Students were encouraged to view citizenship not merely as a legal identity, but as an everyday practice shaped by ethical choices, civic awareness and empathy.

Adding a student leadership dimension to the programme, members of the school’s student council participated in formal proceedings, reflecting confidence, clarity of thought and a strong sense of responsibility. Their involvement served as a practical lesson in leadership, accountability and public speaking—skills essential for engaged citizenship.
